Your Retirement Has a Vulnerability Most Advisors Never Mention.
Dollar-denominated accounts — 401(k)s, IRAs, savings — are fully exposed to inflation, currency debasement, and government policy. Most financial advisors won't tell you that, because most of them don't profit when you know. Here's what's actually available to you:
A Gold IRA uses the same tax protections you already have
Physical gold sits outside inflation and banking risk
Accounts can go live in as little as 24 hours
Zero setup fees, zero-fee buyback guaranteed
Free 2026 kit explains everything — no obligation
On Sunday, June 14, every current DART local bus route in the Des Moines metro is being replaced — all of them, at once. Tonight at Kirkendall Public Library, DART sets up shop from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. to show you exactly what your new ride looks like. Let's roll. 🚲
🚍 The big one: DART burns the bus map — 11 new routes drop June 14
For the first time in DART's history, every local bus route in the system is being wiped and rebuilt from scratch. The 11 new routes are the final phase of Reimagine DART — a multi-year overhaul designed around the metro's busiest streets, with most routes promised to run more often, all day, seven days a week.
For Ankeny, that means two practical changes. Bus stop locations along your current commute will move. And the Ankeny microtransit zone — DART's on-demand ride service that's been operating here as a pilot — now covers roughly the same area as today, but will not extend as far west as originally planned.
Tonight's open house is the only one happening in Ankeny. Bring your current commute and a DART staff member will walk you through your new route, your new stop, and your new schedule. Snacks and printed maps provided.

🥪 Quick hit: Love Lunches + BookMobile kick off today at Sunset Park
Ankeny Love Lunches restarts its summer lunch-at-the-park program today, and beginning this Wednesday the Ankeny BookMobile rolls into Sunset Park alongside it — lunch and a book check-out, every Wednesday all summer. On Fridays the pair moves to Ankeny Presbyterian Church. Both are free and open to all — no income paperwork, no school enrollment, no questions asked. The BookMobile is staffed by Northeast Elementary PTO plus volunteer crews and is looking for more hands.
🚧 Quick hit: Two North Ankeny construction shifts to know
NW Fifth Street is closed as of yesterday (Tuesday, June 2) from just west of North Ankeny Boulevard to just west of the Hy-Vee Gas entrance and just east of the north parking lot entrance — part of the Iowa DOT-led North Ankeny Boulevard Phase 2 project. The new right-turn lane from NW Fifth to North Ankeny Blvd is getting lengthened in the process. (The signal at North Ankeny Blvd & NW Ninth was activated May 28.)
The SE Oralabor Road & SE Four Mile Drive intersection went to an all-way STOP Monday for the Traffic Signal Improvement Program. It stays a four-way stop until the new signal activates in fall 2026.

🎨 Local Business Spotlight: Mission Painting — the family painter in NE Ankeny
Mission Painting is a family-owned Central Iowa painting company run by Tyler and Tammy Rodgers out of 304 NE Mission Ct. — and the differentiator is the operating principle behind it. The Rodgers' pitch isn't "we paint houses." It's that painting houses is how they serve people, with the work itself as the proof.
In practice that means a small, family-run crew that handles interior, exterior, cabinet refinishing, and deck staining across the metro. The same two names answer the phone, walk the estimate, and follow up after the job — which is hard to fake at scale.
The basics:
🎨 Services: interior + exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, deck staining
🏠 Service area: Central Iowa metro
👨👩👧 Family-owned, in business since August 2020
📞 (515) 635-1177 · 📧 [email protected]
