The Ankeny Chamber's signature festival is back July 10–12 at The District at Prairie Trail (1500 SW Main St), and this year it's leaning all the way into a curveball theme: "Jingle in July." While you're planning the weekend, the Ankeny City Council meets tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the Kirkendall Public Library Council Chambers (1250 SW District Dr.). Two items are worth watching.

The first is a rezoning: the council takes up a request to flip a parcel owned by Legacy Housby, LLC from R-1 (single-family residential) to M-1 (light industrial) — first consideration of Ordinance 2262, following a public hearing. The second vacates part of a sanitary sewer easement (Ordinance 2263). Also on the consent agenda: liquor-license approvals and the June 15 minutes.

Tuesday brings a small but neighborly milestone. The Chamber holds a ribbon cutting at noon on Tuesday, July 7 for a new Amazon Hub at On With Life (715 SW Ankeny Rd.) — the Ankeny-based brain-injury rehabilitation center.
