Have an Event You Want Promoted?
The most expensive number in your business never shows up on a bill.
It's the calls you didn't know you missed.
You're with a customer, on a job, or asleep. The phone rings. Most
people who reach a voicemail don't leave one, they just call the
next business on the list. You never even see the job you lost.
That's what we built Notza to fix: an AI receptionist that picks up
every call, 24/7, books the appointment, and texts you the details,
in your business's name. A flat $499/month, less than a day a week
of a part-time receptionist. Built and supported here in Iowa.

It hit 94° outside, but your phone said it felt like 107 — and that gap is the whole story this morning. Ankeny is under its first Extreme Heat Warning of the summer, and the dangerous part isn't the afternoon. It's that tonight barely cools to 76°, so houses without good air conditioning never get a break. Here's how to ride it out. Let's roll. 🚲
🌡️ The big one: an Extreme Heat Warning through Tuesday
The National Weather Service has Ankeny under an Extreme Heat Warning from now until 9 p.m. Tuesday — the most serious heat alert the NWS issues, a step above a watch or advisory.
The numbers: a high near 94° today with a heat index up to 107°, and a stiff south wind gusting to 32 mph that does more to dry you out than cool you down. Tuesday runs nearly identical — 94° and a feels-like of 103°. The catch is overnight. The low only sags to 76°, which is the part that gets people: when it doesn't cool off after dark, the heat compounds day over day, and homes, apartments, and bodies never fully reset.
What that means for your Monday: treat the middle of the day as indoor time. Cascade Falls and Prairie Ridge are open all summer if you want to beat it in the water, and Kirkendall Public Library is a free, air-conditioned place to park for an afternoon. The people most at risk are older neighbors, anyone without reliable AC, and pets — a quick knock on a door or a text today is the kind of thing that actually matters this week.

Someone just spent $236,000,000 on a painting. Here’s why it matters for your wallet.
Late last year, a Klimt sold for the highest price ever paid for modern art at auction.
An outlier sure, but it wasn't a fluke. U.S. auction sales grew 23.1% in 2025. The $1-5mm segment even grew 40.8% YoY.
Meanwhile, Apollo’s chief economist Torsten Slok said to expect ‘zero in return in the S&P 500 over the coming decade.’
Each environment is unique, but after dot-com, post war and contemporary art grew about 24% annually for a decade. After 2008, about 11% for 12 years.
It’s also had near-zero correlation with the S&P 500 since ‘95.*
Now, Masterworks lets you invest in shares of artworks featuring legends like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso.
$1.3 billion invested across over 500 artworks.
28 sales to date.
Net annualized returns on sold works held 12 months+ like 14.6%, 17.6%, and 17.8%.

🚌 DART's free ride ends Tuesday

🥎 Centennial rewrites the record book
That all-time single-season home run chase we kept flagging? It's over — the Jaguars blew past it. After homering in 17 straight games, Centennial has cleared the old state record of 61 and sits at 73 home runs on the year. The next milestone is personal: Jordyn Kennedy (17 this season, 66 for her career) is now just five long balls from Kendyl Lindaman's all-time career record of 71 — Lindaman being the former Ankeny and Centennial star who set it. At 31-2, the No. 2 Jaguars host No. 7 Dowling Catholic on Wednesday.

❄️ Local Business Spotlight: American Edge Air Solutions
On a day the heat index touches 107, the most important machine in your house is the one you never think about — until it quits.
American Edge Air Solutions is the crew for exactly that moment. Run by Jake Peterson out of Nevada, the shop handles HVAC installation, repair, and service, plus its own sheet-metal and ductwork fabrication — which means when a duct doesn't fit, they form the piece on-site instead of forcing an off-the-shelf part. Peterson works a 75-mile radius that reaches into Ankeny, and system assessments and estimates are free, which makes him an easy second opinion the next time a contractor tells you it's time for a whole new unit. The tagline — "Installing Comfort, One Home at a Time" — is about the right size for a one-truck shop that answers its own phone.
The basics:

The heat is the story: an Extreme Heat Warning runs through Tuesday night with a feels-like of 107°, and because it barely cools off after dark, the smart move is an indoor Monday — and a quick check on anyone you know without good AC.
Tuesday: City Hall stays quiet until July 6, so we'll look at what actually flips on July 1 — DART fares are back, a new fiscal year begins — and whether those overnight storms finally break the heat.
